Lampeter-Strasburg High School faculty nominated seven senior girls and seven senior boys to this year’s Prom Court. Students voted at the Parisian-themed junior-senior prom on Saturday, April 18, at the Lancaster Marriott at Penn Square.

Prom Queen Candidates

• Taline Al Kurdi – Taline is the secretary of Cultures Club, a High School Hero, and a member of the National Honor Society, Interact Club, Yearbook, and STEM Club. She also previously served as a student grammar tutor. Taline enjoys baking, cooking, and exploring different cultures and plans to major in biology on a pre-dental track.
• Maya Coon – Maya is a member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society, Marching Band, Garden Spot FFA, Art Club, National Art Honor Society, Concert Band, Concert Choir, Full Orchestra, Pit Orchestra, and Jazz Band. She plans to attend Lebanon Valley College to study environmental science.
• Brooke Hess – Brooke is a Fellowship of Christian Athletes leader, a member of Fellowship of Christian Students and Link Crew, a High School Hero, and a six-year member of the track and field team. She plans to attend Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology to study advanced welding fabrication technology.
• Izzy King – Izzy is a Varsity Club officer, a High School Hero, and a member of the National Honor Society, Link Crew, Student Council, and the varsity softball team. She plans to study business management.
• Julia Knapp – Julia is the senior class vice president, a Link Crew leader, a High School Hero, and a member of Mock Trial Club, Inter-Club Council, National Honor Society, Mini-THON, and Prom Committee. She also plays varsity golf and manages the boys lacrosse team. Julia plans to attend the University of Pittsburgh’s 3+3 law program.
• Marie Turner – Marie is a member of Mock Trial Club, Varsity Club, National Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, Art Club, Link Crew, High School Heroes, Interact Club, and Environmental Club. She plans to attend Utah State University.
• Audrey Wieand – Audrey is captain of the varsity lacrosse team, president of Cultures Club, secretary of Drama Club, and vice president of Chorus. She is also active in Tri-M Honor Society, High School Heroes, Concert Choir, Madrigals, the Spring Musical cast, and Fellowship of Christian Students. Audrey plans to study elementary education and play lacrosse at Grove City College.

Prom King Candidates

• Carlos Berrios – Carlos is secretary of the L-S Model UN and a member of Quiz Bowl, orchestra, morning announcements, and STEM Club. He plans to attend Franklin & Marshall College to study civil engineering.
• Grant Filius – Grant is a High School Hero and a member of Link Crew, Model UN, and the varsity golf and lacrosse teams. He plans to continue his academic and lacrosse career at the University of Lynchburg.
• Peter Fiorello – Peter is a High School Hero and a member of Student Council and the varsity soccer, football, and lacrosse teams. He plans to play college football and pursue a career in the Secret Service.
• Maddux Harsh – Maddux is a High School Hero and a member of Garden Spot FFA, Link Crew, and the varsity golf, bowling, and baseball teams. He plans to attend Thaddeus Stevens to study water and environmental technology.
• Brady Messinger – Brady is a High School Hero and a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Varsity Club, and the varsity basketball and baseball teams. He plans to attend Millersville University to study technology education.
• Chase Messinger – Chase is a High School Hero and a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, National Honor Society, Varsity Club, Student Council, and the varsity basketball and baseball teams. He plans to attend Liberty University to study national security and intelligence.
• Mitchell Swarr – Mitchell is a class officer, High School Hero, and member of National Honor Society, Varsity Club, and Student Council. He is also captain of the varsity football and wrestling teams and plans to enlist in the United States Army after graduation.
